The Arab Public Health Association, in collaboration with WHO Collaborating Centre - Imperial College London, is organising a webinar on "The Private Health Sector during COVID-19 Pandemic". This session will be chaired by Dr Hala Abou Taleb (Regional Advisor, Policy & Health Planning, WHO EMRO). 

 

This session will unfold as follow:

  1. Introduction by Dr Hala Abou Taleb on the challenges faced by health systems across the globe, in both the public and the private sectors.
  2. Presentation by Dr Fadi Alame (Member of Parliament, Lebanon; and Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare; Chief Executive of Sahel Hospital Beirut, Lebanon) on the experience of hospitals, in Lebanon and in the region, including the challenges they faced and how these were addressed - and how those challenges can be avoided in the future. 
  3. Presentation by David Clarke (Team Leader, UHC and Health System Law, WHO Geneva) offering a global perspective on the role of the private sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. 
  4. Panel discussion with Dr Hala AboutalebProf Tawfik Khoja (ArPHA Vice President); and Prof Salman Rawaf (ArPHA, President).
