The Private Health Sector during COVID-19 Pandemic
The Arab Public Health Association, in collaboration with WHO Collaborating Centre - Imperial College London, is organising a webinar on "The Private Health Sector during COVID-19 Pandemic". This session will be chaired by Dr Hala Abou Taleb (Regional Advisor, Policy & Health Planning, WHO EMRO).
This session will unfold as follow:
- Introduction by Dr Hala Abou Taleb on the challenges faced by health systems across the globe, in both the public and the private sectors.
- Presentation by Dr Fadi Alame (Member of Parliament, Lebanon; and Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare; Chief Executive of Sahel Hospital Beirut, Lebanon) on the experience of hospitals, in Lebanon and in the region, including the challenges they faced and how these were addressed - and how those challenges can be avoided in the future.
- Presentation by David Clarke (Team Leader, UHC and Health System Law, WHO Geneva) offering a global perspective on the role of the private sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Panel discussion with Dr Hala Aboutaleb; Prof Tawfik Khoja (ArPHA Vice President); and Prof Salman Rawaf (ArPHA, President).
