Why a health systems governance glossary?
A key challenge for meaningful engagement of diverse stakeholders is semantic differences in discourses about health systems governance. We acknowledge that stakeholders have their own understanding of HSG based on their professional experiences and perspectives. However, vernacular discrepancies hamper inclusive and transparent governance.
Therefore we developed this multilayered glossary through an inclusive and iterative process of reviewing peer-reviewed and grey literature, consulting with a panel of experts, and collecting input during an HSR2018 organized session.
We hope this tool will help build a common terminology and help all stakeholders grasp the different aspects of each of these terms.
How does it work?
For each term, we have provided a primary definition, as well as the option for people interested in going further to see how different stakeholders may have used or defined the term.
Whenever available, the primary definition is the WHO official definition.
